Inspiration Behind the Tracks:Balam / Kup Suz is steeped in the rich history and storytelling traditions of the Tatar people. The Tatar language, central to these songs, adds an element of cultural preservation, paying homage to Dyshat’s roots while addressing timeless themes of freedom, self-reflection, and resilience. Through this EP, Bulat and Dyshat blend ancient influences with modern electronic sounds, crafting a sonic journey that invites listeners to explore the depths of their own inner landscapes.
El Piano is a unique and captivating collection that showcases Nhii's versatility and deep-rooted passion for music. The EP features recorded vocals and piano melodies captured during Nhii's travels through Colombia, offering a rich tapestry of sounds that pay homage to the vibrant Latin Jazz scene of the 1970s. This playful yet profound EP is characterized by its melodic, jazzy piano chords and riffs, seamlessly intertwined with punchy basslines, creating an immersive listening experience.Adding an extra layer of excitement, "El Piano" comes with a dynamic remix by the Berlin-based duo Madota. Known for their innovative approach to electronic music, Madota's remix elevates the original tracks with their signature style, ensuring the EP appeals to a broad audience of electronic music aficionados.
"Mujer Inalcanzable" draws its inspiration from a Turkish classical song of the 1970s, a cherished genre and era that resonates deeply with Bákayan. The track began with a haunting melody, later embellished with rhythmic percussion layers. The decision to infuse this composition with Spanish vocals was intuitive, driven by the emotional connection felt between the language and the melodic groove.
"Dreams Have No Titles" encapsulates a unique blend of emotional resonance and electronic vibrancy, marking a significant chapter in the careers of both artists. Latteo and D'aria's journey began in Bologna, Italy, and has flourished over years of exchanging demos and creative ideas. The EP reflects their shared experiences and the romantic spontaneity that only the most cherished memories can inspire.
Sounds of Khemit, a forward-thinking music label known for its eclectic and vibrant selections, is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of remixes for Fabian Krooss's captivating track, "Papilio". Set to launch on April 26, 2024, this release features the innovative interpretations of Berlin-based electronic live duo Kon Faber and the esteemed Swiss DJ/Producer Olivan, promising a fresh and immersive listening experience.

We’ll be taking over with a full Funktion 1 sound setup, and the lineup features some of the best Sounds of Khemit talent, including Nhii, Gespona, Saqib, B.o.T, and Amadori. To make this event even more special, we’ve also got support from Alex Cecil and Aquariox from Miami.
This showcase will embody the rich, immersive sounds you’ve come to expect from the Sounds of Khemit and it wil unravel the upcoming releases of the label as well as featuring many unheard tracks music of the artists.
Nhii's Patreon page offers a unique opportunity for fans and aspiring artists to dive deeper into the world of electronic music. Through this platform, Nhii shares invaluable industry insights, production techniques, and behind-the-scenes knowledge, all drawn from his extensive experience as a DJ and producer. Patrons gain access to exclusive listening sessions, where they can preview unreleased tracks and get a first look at Nhii's creative process. This community is a space for learning, inspiration, and connection, offering members a chance to grow alongside one of electronic music's most innovative artists.
Minimal Mag: The Sounds of Khemit label launched 2021 with a base in Brooklyn and a thread of inspiration running back to Egypt. The imprint has focused on various artists releases, drawing on some of the more interesting producers around the globe to further their message. We caught up with label founder and visionary Wael and label boss Chris Nhii to hear more.
